MARYLAND DISTRICT 13 DELEGATE VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Howard County Democratic Central Committee is now accepting applications and resumes to nominate an individual to fill the vacancy of Delegate in the 13th Legislative District.

To apply for this Delegate vacancy, the following qualifications must be met:

  • You must be a registered Democratic voter in the State of Maryland,
  • You must be a resident of the State of Maryland for one (1) year,
  • You must be a resident of the 13th Legislative District for six (6) months; and
  • Be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.

Interested applicants should apply using the Google form link listed above. Resumes and application package must be received no later than 11:59 PM on Monday, December 29th, 2025. Resumes must include your full name (no nicknames), address, email address, and phone number.

Resumes received after the deadline will not be considered. Interviews of all eligible applicants will be held on Monday, January 5th, 2026 with a back-up date of Tuesday, January 6, 2026 (only if we do not finish all the interviews on Monday, January 5th). Interviews will be conducted virtually on Zoom beginning at 6:30 PM and will be open to the public to watch. We will send a follow up announcement regarding how to watch the interviews in coming days.

Applicants will be notified of their specific interview times after applying. The twenty (20) voting members of the Howard County Democratic Central Committee will vote publicly after all interviews have concluded to nominate an individual to fill the vacancy. The HCDCC will hold its vote on the D13 Delegate vacancy at our monthly scheduled HCDCC meeting to be held on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 at 7:00 pm.
