Guilford Park High School Opening Ceremony

Howard County’s newest high school, Guilford Park High School (GPHS), located at 8500 Ridgely’s Run Road, Jessup, MD, will open its doors to the public on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 where students, staff, and families will have an opportunity to tour the school and participate in several activities to kick off the 2023-2024 school year. The day will begin with a fun run/walk at approximately 8:30 a.m. at the school. No registration is required to participate in the event which will explore the 77-acre GPHS campus. A symbolic planting of a flower preserved from prior owners of the land on which the school was built will occur at 9:30 a.m. There will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. where several guest speakers will help celebrate the school’s opening. Following the ribbon cutting, all students, families and visitors will be invited to tour the school which will conclude at 12:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend the ceremonies to open Guilford Park High School. No registration is required.
